A packaging center needs a laboratory for testing on nutritional facts of food products. Likewise, it is necessary that the center will house graphic artist who will do the packaging designs. The production area should at least be able to house the 4 basic types of packaging machines for solids, liquids, vacuum pack and continuous band sealer and provide ample room for stocking packaging materials and finished products. Considering that the product is food, it is also necessary that utmost sanitation and high quality standards of operation be maintained in the workplace. A center should be ideally located within proximity distance from the production area.

A letter addressed to Daisy Tañafranca, the Program Leader of the Packaging Center will be sent requesting technical assistance in the planning and implementation stage.

Learnings/To Dos
Raising revenue collection is not much of a problem when the Local Government Unit has a database of all properties owned or managed by them with appropriate zoning of these properties to establish the corresponding market value or appraisal value. Likewise, Local government executives should have the political will to implement revenue generating measures.

For reference purposes and to be able to get a clearer picture of initial investments based on DTI BN registration, DTI should establish standards.
