Bohol products generate interest of out-of-town exporters, buyers
Bohol products captured the interest of several buyers and exporters from Manila and Cebu.
Featured during the recent Bohol Product Showcase, the products registered total sales of P40.075 million in cash and booked orders.
Top selling items in the trade fair include bags utilizing sea shell accessories, woven raffia, beads/buttons which serve as fashion jewelry and table top components, bag baskets, miniature decorative items utilizing indigenous materials and table accessories utilizing wood, coco shell, bamboo, agsam, nito and sig-id.
A total of 34 producers/exhibitors generated cash sales of P215,000, booked orders of P20,646,000 and orders under negotiations of P19,396,000.
Bannering the the theme, "Our Town, Our Product, Our Pride", the trade fair was made possible with the cooperation of the Philippine-Australia Technical Support for Agrarian Reform and Rural Development, DTI-CARP National Program Office, the Bohol Foundation and the Bohol Provincial SMED Council.
The showcase of beautifully handcrafted items made from indigenous raw materials was a result of a series of product clinics activities conducted by designers from the Product Development and Design Center of the Philippines, an attached agency of the Department of Trade and Industry based in Manila.
